... from the George Mason High School website!
The entire Mason student body gathered Friday in the Main Gym to get fired up for the first home football game against Luray. The pep rally featured performances by Mason's revamped fall cheerleading squad, which has several more members than last year's squad. "Their chemistry looked phenomenal," said freshman Nick Bourbeau, "they seemed to have a lot more energy and charisma this year as opposed to last."
To say the least, I am SOOO proud of what my girls have accomplished and the school is GREATLY taking notice!! The first game last year, I had 5 girls on the field... this year our first game welcomed 20 girls and the crowd was AMAZED!! The girls thrilled everyone at the Pep Rally earlier in the day, which actually resulted in a "cheerleading cheering section" at the game that night!! :-) Another student quote from the GM site was "Our Football team rocks! Our cheerleaders rock! Our fans rock! and oh yea...Our HORSE rocks! 2 and 0 baby. Way to go Mason!" YAY!! It's phenomenal to see this school's spirit turning around. The history has always been that it has a great athletic program, but no school spirit and we are beginning to change all that!! This was the first Pep Rally under my direction and after I had SO many compliments from faculty and staff. They said it was the best the school has seen in 10 years. I am SOO proud of these girls and just had to share!! I obviously have more pics... I'll start to post them soon!
CHEERS!
